Hello, it’s been a while since my last post. Work and family matters didn’t leave me much time to work on a new post. But with the many recent events like the passing of Satoru Iwata or the latest Shenmue 3 teaser, I’ll try to write something down.
With that said, I was swallowed like many online shoppers by the Amazon Prime Day (or Premium Day, depending on where you live). Like many, I was let down by the offers. We were promised something bigger than Black Friday, yet that wasn’t really the case.
If you want a good laugh, go on Twitter and look for the hashtag #PrimeDay.
Nonetheless, there were some nice deals. Not the greatest, but great enough to interest many shoppers. I made 4 or 5 orders, and one of those was a PS4 bundle. Yes, I finally made the jump to the current generation of video game consoles!
Ever since the launch of 8th gen consoles, I wasn’t able to find something that made me want to move from my Xbox 360. But after this year’s E3 and all the good stuff that came out of it, I was clearly looking for a good offer. Now, developers are developing exclusively for 8th gen consoles and PC and are little by little abandoning the 7th gen consoles.
Initially, I was struggling to resist buying and wait for the Christmas season to get a nice bundle, like the Fallout 4 bundle. Luckily, Amazon came and put online just for yesterday a Batman Arkham Knight bundle. Not the one with the limited edition steel grey PS4. I just couldn’t resist this enticing offer and there it went in my shopping cart.
This bundle contains:
- A PS4: jet black color with a 500 Go hard-drive
- A Batman Arkham Knight video game
- A second controller
- 6 months of free Playstation Plus
- A Blu-ray combo of the Nolan Batman trilogy (Batman Begins, The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises)
- A free issue #0 of the Batman Arkham Knight comics
All this for €399 with free shipping thanks to my Amazon Prime membership.
Yet, I still can’t unbox this little sweet present I bought to myself due to kind of long days at the office and shipping services still being a bit stiff on delivery hours. I’ll just have to wait and pick it up on saturday (sigh)…
But that wasn’t the only nice deal I made on Amazon: I also bought a copy of Shadow of Mordor and a copy of the Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited, both with a 40% discount. Again, can’t wait for saturday to try them.
Well, I’ll just keep on playing Injustice: Gods Among Us’ story mode until the weekend!
So, what did you think of Amazon’s Prime Day? Did you buy anything?
